Memory game

This is a simple Memory game that we created last year which can be extremely useful in elementary school, around the third year.

 

We divide the class in four groups which will play at this game using the traditional rules: they have to putt all the cards face down and then they have to find the correspondent.

In this way our children begin to activate some cognitive skill that lead them to do conceptual association. In this case, the association require a basic level of this competence, since they have just to match similar images.

 

After the match, we ask our children to take a careful look to the cards on the table... They seem to tell a story... At this point every group become a team, which have to find 6 stories between the cards and put them in order.

This second phase of the activity require the same skill used in the first, but at a higher level. It would be impossible for our children to manage in this job, but the previous activity help them, since they are already focused on the right cognitive form.

Download it, cut all the cards and then try to find 6 story between them, if you manage in it, tell it to us!
